We rehearse every Wednesday evening from 7.45pm to 10pm in Oakwood/Southgate (North London). We also have rehearsals on Sundays when required. Although rehearsals are often hard work, they are always very rewarding and highly productive. Rehearsals traditionally end with a trip to the pub for the older members, providing a chance to socialise and relax. Every person who performs on the stage pays a show fee to cover the cost of insurance and the rehearsal venue.
The show fees are agreed at the AGM and currently the rates are:
Adult = £55
Students (in full-time education) = £30
This fee can be paid in installments by arrangement with our membership secretary, Sarah Pym, who is responsible for collecting show fees.
At the beginning of each production cast members will be made aware of the deadline for the full payment of show fees. Before you can audition (for principal roles or chorus) there is a non-refundable £5 Audition Fee which must be paid on or before the day of audition. This will then be deducted off your show fee for the production.
Before every production there is an introductory evening which will introduce you to the show and what will be required at the audition (acting, singing and dancing). The exact audition process varies between productions but it will always be an opportunity to show us your talents and certainly nothing to panic about!
